1. Episode 1

This programme introduces the Hicks family from Chesham and the Garrattley family from Manchester. 16-year-old Matthew Hicks' parents are terrified his endless stream of one night stands is going to see him becoming a father before he gets out of his teens. And things are so bad in the Garrattley household that 16-year-old Becky’s dad has already thrown one boyfriend out of the house. Can Maria’s methods solve these family’s problems? The theory is that the more open people are, the less there is to hide and worry about. Which doesn’t mean it’s going to be any less awkward when Maria makes Matthew buy condoms with his dad, or Becky show her parents all the sex positions she knows with the use of toy dolls.

17-year-old Dale Linton treats women like they are trophies to be paraded in front of his mates and his mum is sick of his attitude. Abby Standen has been allowed to sleep with her boyfriends at home for the last three years, but as the number of partners has grown her parents are changing the rules.
